Preparing for Hardwood Installation
Signature Flooring will keep you informed throughout the whole installation process, but here are some basic steps to get you started.
Your furniture will need to be removed from the installation area.
Hardwood flooring requires a flat, clean surface for a proper installation. To ready the area for your new flooring, you may have to remove your existing flooring. This process will be different for different types of existing flooring and extra care may be required if your previous flooring is glued down or set in tile adhesive.
During & After Hardwood Installation
An adult member of your household (age 18 or older) should greet the installation crew and show them to the work area. The lead installer will give you a walkthrough of the job and answer any questions you have
Keep children and pets away from the work area for the duration of the job. Stay off your new floors for the required amount of time after the job is done. Plan to provide ventilation for the new floor area, post-installation, to help clear related odors and dust.
